Our Bluebird CSA share members experienced the reason every farmer should have a high tunnel to extend their growing season.…locally grown Georgia lettuces in January!

Courtesy of the USDA, every Georgia farm will be provided with 1 high tunnel.

It is exciting news to learn Georgia farmers have this opportunity to benefit from the USDA pilot program in Georgia and now farm year round providing local harvest to the community perpetually.

Lettuces that survived the Middle GA 2010 hard freeze in a high tunnel were enjoyed by Bluebird CSA shareholders in salads like this one.
