Bluebird Market Encourages January Planting of Snow Peas

Through the winter months in Georgia, we can plant asparagus in a place that “will be its permanent home as established plants are productive for many years.”

January early spring veggies for your garden are English, Snow and Snap peas.  Peas love the cold ground and resist frost. After January 15th, you can also plant onions, cabbage,  Irish potatoes, carrots and radishes, spinach and lettuces according to UGA.

By the middle of February, you can plant collards and broccoli for spring. In March or April you can add cauliflower, pole beans, lima beans and watermelon. Add cucumber and eggplant in April or May.
